Favorite Finds: Lacquered Trays and Faceted Gem Vases

I love the thrill of the hunt. The hunt to find something that makes me happy when I’m home. I have recently found a couple of things that I love. Gleaming Renditions have beautiful trays for reasonable prices. I think at their price point, a lot of trays look a little obviously cheap, but Gleaming Renditions have done an excellent job of making it look like you paid a price. Especially since it’s lacquered and it’s from Etsy.

Raven Black 12 x 12 Lacquered Serving Tray - Wood Ottoman Tray - Decorative Coffee Table Tray

I bought this Raven Black 12 x 12 tray with a lacquered satin finish for my dining table and it makes my dining table look a little dressier. I’m just thrilled that it looks just like it does in this picture.

Color Theory: Red, White, and Blue

I recently just bought a red blanket for my bedroom. It is super soft and cozy and keeps me warm when it’s cold at night. My curtains, rug, picture frames, and artworks are dark blue. The walls are white. When I first got the blanket, I wasn’t sure it was going to work. Maybe I need new curtains, but that might be an excuse to go shopping since I still love them. The red blanket is nearly garnet(I know the website calls it burgundy), but it’s growing on me. I decided to search for inspiration to reassure myself. I think it helped.

I’m not a fan of red and blue rooms in general. I’m kind of afraid to try it. As much as I love America, I don’t want to decorate my room patriotically.

In John Knott and John Fondas's Maine master bedroom, the patriotic theme sprang from Fondas's collection of Washington memorabilia and American flags. Independence Toile covers the daybed next to a 19th-century English campaign chest. Walls are covered in Quadrille's Independence Engraving.

Dream Home Inspiration: Yellow Entry Way

Hopefully this time next year, we’ll be looking for our first house.

Wallpapered Accent Wall

This entry way serves as my inspiration for my hopefully-not-too-distance future home. I love the wow factor of the wallpaper and I would love to try something this bold in my entry way. Now whether it’ll be yellow or not remains to be seen.
