Month: March 2016

Top Ten: March Finds

Here’s my monthly round-ups of loves. Don’t think I’ll ever run out of stuff that I love.

1)I love EVERYTHING in this apartment! Plus I’m totally on a palm leaves kick/obsession right now. This just might be a future home inspiration for me, but can I just move into this one?

DIY: Abstract Word Art

Maybe this needs to be a lesson on styling a little vignette. But, it’s too late to go back and start over to get those paint colors just right, now.

Every now and then I like to create my own word art. Like the typical art creator, I’m very hard on myself about how things turn out, especially when I’m working on a cake. My cakes always turn out tasty, but the decorating part- the devil is in the details, y’all. Anyway, I liked how this word art turned out.

The Spotlight: Pattern Play in the Bathroom

Although I have seen this a million times on pinterest and a few times on other people’s blogs, I still love this bathroom.

Amber Interiors - Kohler - 1

All this pattern is a lot of fun to me. It’s playful, but grounded by the black color and the neutral brown in the mirror and the flower basket. And how fun is that rug?

Inspirational Words: Coffee and Flowers

I was looking for something inspirational, something that would make me feel happy and I felt that as soon as I came across this saying. I wish I had a beautiful garden that I could cut flowers from and set them in pretty vases throughout the house. Faux flowers will do for now, but it’s not the same. It doesn’t have that perfume smell of lilies or roses. And coffee. I know that’s a not a perfume or a flower scent, but it’s a glorious smell. The day just doesn’t start without coffee. If it does, it’s not the same. It’s a little routine that I enjoy while waking up from zombie mode. In fact, I love coffee so much that we’re taking a coffee tour in Costa Rica! Really looking forward to that!

The Spotlight: Light & Coastal Screening Room

Since I was sticking to light, beachy colors, I sourced an ivory sofa from Joss and Main with plenty of cuddle space. I accessorized it with some pillows that give a little nod to Whitney's bohemian style.

Have you seen this room? It’s amazing! In fact, I love it so much that I pinned it under my Dream Home Inspiration board. That’s probably the category I should be posting this under, but since I’m not really a beachy person, I decided The Spotlight category was more appropriate. I absolutely love this wall color, so I’m glad I came across these pictures on Laura Trevey’s blog, where one of the first things she mentioned was the paint color- Benjamin Moore Water Drops. Definitely going to need to remember that one when I finally get a house to paint. And that wall gallery! I’m obsessed with it. Actually, I’m just (more…)
