Top Ten: May Finds

    1. Seriously, where has May gone? If someone catches me doing some time traveling, tell them to stop me because it’s messing with my head. Unless I’m bringing myself some nice furniture, then just let me proceed. Anyway, here’s my monthly round-ups.

A Cheerfully Grounded Corner

The details in this corner is amazing. From the molding down to the carvings on the chair. How cool is that shelf? Not to mention how beautifully it’s styled. But what strikes me most is how the gray grass wallpaper and the dark wood of the chair keeps everything from feeling too light. And everything gold on the shelf and the yellow pattern ties in everything together beautifully. Corey Damen Jenkins is one talented designer. Check out the rest of the house here.

Design Destination: The Peace Lodge

This is easily our new favorite place in the entire world. And by our, I mean me and Jon. This is where we stayed while we got married at La Paz Waterfall and Gardens. This is the Peace Lodge. The Peace Lodge has been voted one of the best Honeymoon destinations outside of the US and one of best small boutiques in Costa Rica. My pictures don’t do this place justice, so you’ll just have to visit to find out for yourself. I’ll also post more pictures of the grounds in another post when I do one on this whole trip.

Renovated Carriage House with a Nod to its Historical Bones

I’m in love with this charmingly rustic home and clearly, so was the owner.

“I had $60 in my pocket, and I gave it to him as a deposit,” says Hadar, who is divorced and has two teenage children. “It was insane. I had no idea how much I might be overpaying—there was no inspection or anything—but I knew it was perfect. And he could see it was my intention to restore the place, which was important to him.” –Elle Decor
