Month: July 2016

Top Ten: July Finds

Summer is almost over and I’m looking forward to fall. It’s always been my favorite season, but I’m still enjoying the summer sun while I can. With another month nearly gone, it’s time for another monthly top ten round ups.

1) So many dreamy places to stay, so little time to see them all. My wanderlust just kicked in high gear.

2) In love with this doormat. Fits me to a ‘T’. Need this in my life.

15 Circular Conversation Seating Areas: 4 Chairs Around a Coffee Table

Having some chairs in a circle surrounding a coffee table is a refreshing way to mix up seating arrangements. Typically there’s a couch or two involved in seating arrangement. I find it somehow more intimate and inviting to have conversations in this set up.

I don’t know about you, but this makes me want to gather around and gossip!

10 Design Books Wish List

I’m always in need of a good book to read and I always particularly love a good design book. They’re a great source of inspiration and full of design lessons. Here’s what I’m wishing for these days:

Travel: Costa Rica

Get yourself a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers. I’ll try not to get too wordy, but our trip in Costa Rica was amazing. It is such a beautiful country that’s a little rough around the edges. These pictures are from my camera phone and in no way does it do any justice.

If you haven’t already, be sure to get caught up here on The Peace Lodge, which was our first stop. The Peace Lodge is on the same grounds as the La Paz Waterfall and Gardens, so everything was in walking distance. There was so much to see, that unfortunately, we ran out of time to hike their trails to see all the waterfall. The one we got married at was the only one we saw and was the first time we saw it. We saw mostly the animal sanctuary, which for one reason or another cannot be released back into the wild.

A Modern Bathroom Done Up in Marble and Travertine

This marble tub is everything! The color is beautiful. The edges are smooth. That built in shelf is just amazing! The black fixtures gives it an industrial edginess. I love that it’s balanced out with the warm beige tiles, which I believe- correct me if I’m wrong- is travertine. That glass pane keeps everything open with a flow. The plants definitely helps to make it more inviting because who doesn’t love a bathroom with plants in it?
