10 Design Books Wish List

I’m always in need of a good book to read and I always particularly love a good design book. They’re a great source of inspiration and full of design lessons. Here’s what I’m wishing for these days:

The Spotlight: Alexa Hampton’s NY Living Room

Don’t you just love a good couch loaded with pillows? And those mats in the picture frames? I’m not sure I would have thought to do any kind of brown tones, but it looks great how it’s all pulled together here. The pictures all look like sepia tones, but it’s difficult to tell if that’s the case or if it really is black and white. I’m also loving the polk-a-dotted lamp shade to the left in the photo above with the blue lamp base. It adds to some fun in the living room, right along with the purple pillows.

Decorating in Detail

Before I got this book, I knew very little about Alexa Hampton. I knew her name and I knew she is one of the top designers. I wasn’t very familiar with her work, but now I am determined to be. There’s a reason why she’s known for what she does. She knows what she’s talking about! If you need several more reasons, she has very good taste and she learned from the best: Mark Hampton, her father. I’ll need to read his book written by his wife.
