Entry way

Making an Entrance

Every home needs a good entryway- a fantastic welcoming spot as soon as you walk through the front door. It needs to be a well-rounded spot. Not only does it need to be personalized to you (as a place to drop off keys, mails or to kick off your shoes, whatever it is you do at the front door), it needs to make your guests feel welcomed. It needs to give them hints as to who you are and of what the rest of the house will be like.

The Spotlight: Whimsical Entryway

beacon hill townhouse design

Talk about a striking first impression the moment you walk in through that door. That wallpaper is called “Daydream” by Julia Rothman for Hygge & West. And how about that vintage Italian lantern from Upstairs/Downstairs Antiques? I’m not sure I’ve seen anything exactly like it. I love how the striped stair runners and the door ties in with the wallpaper. That tribal rug. At first I didn’t like it with the rest of the room, but the longer I look at this picture, the more I love that it adds personality to the entryway. It’s the punch of color to break up the monotony color of blue. It’s the traditional aspect of the room to ground all this airy whimsical personality.

Dream Home Inspiration: Yellow Entry Way

Hopefully this time next year, we’ll be looking for our first house.

Wallpapered Accent Wall

This entry way serves as my inspiration for my hopefully-not-too-distance future home. I love the wow factor of the wallpaper and I would love to try something this bold in my entry way. Now whether it’ll be yellow or not remains to be seen.
