Happy birthday, United States of America!!!

Hopefully you’re like me and the rest of America, taking a nice long weekend to celebrate.

DIY: Abstract Word Art

Maybe this needs to be a lesson on styling a little vignette. But, it’s too late to go back and start over to get those paint colors just right, now.

Every now and then I like to create my own word art. Like the typical art creator, I’m very hard on myself about how things turn out, especially when I’m working on a cake. My cakes always turn out tasty, but the decorating part- the devil is in the details, y’all. Anyway, I liked how this word art turned out.

The Spotlight: Blue, Gold and White Kitchen

Sarah Richardson is one talented lady. She is at least an author, designer, and tv show host. I, unfortunately, haven’t read her new book and I don’t currently have cable- so no HGTV for me. But I have seen some of her design works. Take a look at this kitchen.

Normally a kitchen like this is far too white for me. But there’s enough royal blue and gold in there to warm up the space for me.

Top Ten: Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day seems to be the most anticipated or the most dreaded holiday of all. Love plays a very big role in all our lives. I think we make too big a deal about this one particular day, whether you love or hate it. I think a lot of people tend to forget that this day should also be dedicated to loving themselves, not just others. I have found ten things that fit the Valentine’s Day theme, whether it’s for yourself or someone else.
